Some lines and some pictures to help you in better know and appreciate Lome, the Capital of the country.

Situation:

Lined in the South by the Atlantic Ocean, and attached Westward on the border of nearby Ghana, Lomé stretches northward in the direction of Agoué and eastward in the direction of Baguida, on the road of Benin.

The population is of a little less than a million inhabitants. The main districts of the city are Kodjoviakopé, Asigamé, Ablogamé (in the seaside) and more in the North Nyekonakpoué, Dekkon, Bè, Bè Kpota.

Climate:

The climate is Tropical Wet with alternation of two dry seasons and two wet seasons: the main rainy season extends in theory from April till June, and the small rainy season is centred over September.

Harmattan (dry air from Sahara loaded with fine particles of sand) can touch Lomé between November and January with more or less of intensity. Except the periods of harmattan, Lomé is very wet.

With the influence of the Ocean, the temperatures vary little during the year. At the height of the warm season ( January to March), the mercury will not exceed 35 ° in the daytime for 30 ° at night, while at the height of the season cold (July to Aout), we shall get approximately 20 ° at night for 25 ° during the day. Forget your pullovers!

What to see :

The city is recent (a little more than a century only) and present of this fact few sites of tourist interest. Let us quote the Big Market famous for the Women traders of tissues (traditional , wax) called Mama Benz and the market to Idols where you may find improbable products and any sorts of spells. 'Feticheurs are ready to help your problems ... and your wallet.

The National museum is situated in the administrative district.

Know that on the condition of respecting some elementary rules of conduct, the streets of Lomé are not dangerous at night, night birds can give it themselves to heart-enjoyment.
